Sh'ma Ministries - A Ministry to Jews & Gentiles

Hebrew Page

God used a “Holy Language” (Hebrew) to speak all of creation into existence. Before the Tower of Babel, everyone spoke and understood one single language- Hebrew.  He wrote the “Ten Commandments” in stone on Mt. Sinai in a language that Moses and the Israelites understood. Most likely Paleo Hebrew.

He also wrote with his finger on the palace wall in Babylonian, a message to King Nebuchadnezzar. However, since the king could not read it, he called Daniel, to read God’s message. Could it have been that even though the rabbis had invented a newer Hebrew script, God’s message was written in the ancient Paleo Hebrew that Daniel still remembered?

Both our Old and New Testaments were originally written (mostly by Jews) in Hebrew. . .not Greek!

To really understand the Bible, we need to put it back into the context of the time, culture and the people of Israel.  Hebraic thinking is cyclical in nature, in contrast with the linear thinking of our Western culture.

Gods' son came as a Jewish Rabbi (He came specifically for the “Lost Sheep of the House of Israel”).
